Tenants Rights

We organize tenants across Albuquerque to build tenant power. We are developing leaders who know their rights, tell their stories, organize their neighbors, and hold landlords accountable.

Housing is a human right, and tenants are best equipped to fight for tenants’ rights. That’s why OLÉ members are organizing tenant unions AND working with state and local lawmakers to win policies that guarantee safe, affordable, and dignified housing for all.

Join the fight for housing justice in Albuquerque!

We are fighting for:

  • Tenant unions to bargain with landlords
  • Renters Bill of Rights
  • Banning AI for rental pricing
  • Repealing the state ban on rent stabilization

Our Wins:

  • 2024: Adding cooling to the housing code for the City of Albuquerque (O-24-59)
  • 2025: Capping application & background check fees statewide (Senate Bill 267)
